People can complain about the unoriginal-ness all they want, I still think that this is one of the best entries to date. This film did something new by giving the characters a bit of characterization, something not even remotely attempting in the series. I found this a very nice welcome for once, as it gave me some characters to root for to survive instead of automatically knowing who the survivors were. As many times as I have seen that, it does grow a bit tiresome to see it in every film. I was also very pleased with the high quality gore in the film. This is easily one of the goriest of the sequels, and may even rival the original in the amount of on-screen blood. In terms of killing, we have so many different types that it brings back shades of "Part 3" in the amount of types of weapons used.
